Max started off P10 and used a brilliant strategy to win this weekend. Keeping his cool and managing his tires beautifully he drove a great race and enjoyed a much-deserved win. F1 got its 105th pole-sitter in George Russel this weekend. He put in an amazing lap and was joined on the front row by Sainz. The second row had LeClerc and a surprisingly quick Norris. I was hopeful for a surprise winner like Russel or Norris. Yet Russel just couldn't seem to convert the pole into a maiden win, he lead twice until he was overtaken by Sainz. Norris as well just didn't have the pace compared to Ferrari and Red Bull. Verstappen was followed by another Mercedes double - Ham, Rus, Sai, Per, Lec, and so on. Mercedes's consistent performance makes me confident that within the next couple of races they will get their first win of the season.

It's official, Ferrari needs new strategists. If you are not sure what I'm talking about well here's a recap of LeClerc's pitstops this race - He started on mediums and did a long stint on them, and then put another pair on. He performed well on these tires and was leading. The FIA has a rule stating that all drivers must drive on two compounds during a race. Now LeClerc had only used mediums, so the logical idea is that he would nurture the second stint for a while and then use softs at the end. Right? No, this is Ferrari so instead, they pit him a second time in the middle of the race. As much as the inner Ferrari fan

in me wants to give the strategists the benefit of the doubt, just previously that day F2 had raced and seen how bad the hards were. Not only did the type take 10 laps to warm up they were incredibly slow. Verstappen who started 10th not only passed him twice but also did a little 360 donut for the fans, and was still in front of LeClerc! Oh, but we aren't done yet, oh no. The strategy was so bad, that they pitted him a 3rd time on the last lap! Mind you this is normally a 2 stop track. So on the last lap, he's on softs and finishes 6th. Poor LeClerc spent over 20 seconds in the pits, definitely a race to forget for the Tifosi.

It's been one crazy ride but we are officially halfway done with the season! I'll warn you though, although there isn't a race for the next month due to summer break, there will be plenty of news as the driver market is still up in the air. I'll see you soon!
