Who should you pick for your team before Official Pre-testing in Bahrain? (Click for more)

Whether this is your first time playing F1 fantasy or not, this year is unusual and extremely hard to predict due to the new cars. With the 100 mil budget, it's hard to squeeze in both the drivers and constructor you want. Based on the testing in Barcelona, it is pretty clear that Ferrari is a great choice. They had a pretty uninterrupted three days of testing, with the duo of LEC and SAI getting the most laps in than any other team. The car itself did not seem to have any major issues and Taking Ferrari as your Constructor is a good idea as they seem to have a reliable car.

As for drivers, this is up to preference and personal belief due to the lack of information we currently have. As of now, it might seem like the first thing to do is buy either HAM or VES, but in reality, this is not a good idea. 1) Both of these drivers are incredibly expensive 2) We don't know who's going to be on top 3) With an expensive drier your going to have more "poor drivers". Instead, it's good to go for more midfield drivers. This includes LEC, SAI, NOR, and GAS. You will always be short on money so will always have a budget pick. In normal times, this would be an easy decision with MSC. Yet, due to recent events with the Ukraine and Russia war, Haas has parted ways with MAZ. If you are not aware of why MSC was such a great pick it is because 1) He's only $6.5 million 2) He has consistently placed higher and beaten his teammate. The way Fantasy works is that you get +2 points if your driver places higher than their teammate. This makes him an amazing pick. Now that MAZ is leaving, we are not sure who may come in his place. It could be Fittipaldi, Piastri, Giovinazzi, or maybe Daruvala (although very unlikely.) The most likely candidate is Fittipaldi who is frankly a meh driver. Haas could spend more money and buy Piastri from Alpine, which would be a good choice for Alpine as Piastri would gain experience. In this matter, there is nothing we can do but wait until Haas makes their choice.

In general, these are the best picks with the information we have right now. In truth, we need to wait. As the famous saying goes we must "wait for FP3." Right after FP3 is when we will have enough information to make the best team we can for the weekend. After qualifying it is too late because at that point the prices would have changed(After quali the prices change depending on a team/drivers performance.) You want to catch the wave and pick your drivers/constructor before the price rises. I hope this helps you!
